Arriving at the home of the Warden of the Swamps, our adventurers are not warmly welcomed. Brushing off pleas for assistance the, hobbit hermit slams the door retreating into his shack. Undaunted, the party send their bird man, Tengu Ebonwing onto the roof, cawing at the top of his avian lungs. Within minutes, the disgruntled half long throws the door open a second time. Upon threat of further annoyance, they are begrudgingly admitted to the home. Small talk continues on a fruitless path and the nervous nature of the swamp dweller makes clear that something is afoot. The warden appears to know nothing if the lands which have been his home for over 5 years.
A thump comes from the upper floor and Tengu issues an ultimatum as Draugnir and Asadel make their way to the stairs. Give them directions to their target or they’ll scour the house and get to the bottom of the hobbit’s hijinks.
With a shriek, the visage of a hobbit melts away, revealing the creature to be the faceless stalker, Vallerag. Combat ensued and as most do before our powerful heroes, the beast was slain. A greatful Walthus, found in a closet in the upper floor, rewards the birdman with his trusted cloak of resistance and directions to the goblin menace.
Calling from his stoop as our heroes depart, Walthus warns our adventurers of their path ahead. A witch, the Old Megus lives enroute to the Licktoad Village. Darkness surrounds her home and many an adventurer has been caught in her tangled web of witchcraft and sorcilations.
